BioPerhaps I should let Aughra explain herself to you.
Of the race of Aughra, I, Aughra, am alone, the first and last. Born from the need for rocks and trees for an Eye to see the World. The wind blew and the blind trees sang and the rocks cracked and I was Aughra. This is my song. - From _The World of the Dark Crystal_ by Brian Froud.
Aughra is a mystic, an astronomer, an alchemist...and an Eye. Never forget she's an Eye. She is also over 3000 years old, short (three and a half feet tall at best), cryptic, cantankerous and perhaps not quite sane. Or perhaps she's the sanest of all. A keeper of wisdom and secrets. She has lived to see great joy turn to great sorrow and then to have joy return with the healing of the Dark Crystal.
And now she has found her way to Milliways...
